The Lafayette could be adding a significant second floor patio if plans by Rocco Termini and Earl Ketry pass muster with the Preservation Board. The 3,000 square foot patio would be located on the south side of the historic building and would cantilever over an existing surface parking lot.
From the project application:
The structure will be all steel including the floor and will attach to the existing wall and overhand a parking lot below. There will one exterior stair and horizontal “catch fencing” will surround the patio to prevent any falling objects. All steel (structural, decorative and railings) will be painted black. The structure is painted black.
Termini’s redevelopment of the former Lafayette Hotel opened in 2012. In 2017, Ketry relaunched the building’s former Pan American Grill & Brewery as Lafayette Brewing Co.
