This year’s Animation Fest by Squeaky Wheel promises to be a real adventure in the artist-made world of animations. This family-friendly event – in partnership with Villa Maria College – features a program of short films from Western New York and around the world.
What makes the 2021 festival really different is the setting for the event – an outdoor drive-in and sit-down screening at the Albright-Knox Northland. There will be an opportunity to view the films in person (under the stars), as well as virtually (screened simultaneously).
The 18th Animation Fest, showcasing curated submissions ranging from hand-drawn to stop-motion to 3D modeling, includes films by Abby Castillo, Becky Brown, Benjamin Rosenthal and Eric Souther, Emma Geiger, Gabriella Mykal, Hanlin Wang, Lydia Moyer, Petra Zlonoga, S4RA, Terrance Houle, and Neko Wong-Houle.
A special remote introduction will be articulated by curator Tabia Lewis. There will also be a post-screening Q&A with the curator and filmmakers, which will take place on Google Docs.
How to attend in-person:
