Over the past five years, the Beau Fleuve Music & Arts Celebration has come a long way. Not only has the festival and celebration spotlighted countless culturally significant artists, musicians, makers, designers, etc., it has also helped to promote numerous community engagement initiatives.

Founded by entrepreneur Lindsey L. Taylor, the event is different than most other festivals in that it remains active and relevant throughout the year. With its matra, “Culturally Active & Community Engaged,” Taylor ‘s philosophy is to be a change agent in a community that is looking for role models. Therefore, Beau Fleuve promotes music and arts education programs and workshops for inner city youth, as well as an Arts Summer Camp. There’s even a Green Team that cleans the Central Terminal grounds in preparation for the big event.
In 2021, attendees will come across plenty of live music (bands and DJs), art exhibitors and installations, curated talks, a silent disco, podcast stages, aerial acts, food trucks, backyard games, a family fun area, a ‘vendor village,’… and even a Wearable Art Project in collaboration with Buffalo State Fashion and Textile Technology and UB Arts Collaboratory.

Taylor, who hails from the business world of sports and entertainment, wanted to create a festival that was dedicated to the rebirth of the city, as well as to the importance of inclusion, and diversity. He also wanted to host the event at a site that was inspirational to all Buffalonians – The Central Terminal.
“Just as we are excited about celebrating our 5th Year, we are equally excited to get back to hosting a live event!” said Taylor.
In coming years, Taylor’s foundation is looking to establish a music and arts center that would be open throughout the year, to further engage with this city’s youth, creatives, start-ups, etc. The annual Beau Fleuve Music & Arts Celebration is one of the ways that Taylor is promoting this vision.
