2021 NYS Craft Brewers Festival @ Canalside

Western New York is now home to over 40 craft breweries. That’s an astonishing number, considering that it wasn’t that long ago that we were rejoicing and celebrating the arrival of some of the first craft breweries to this region. It might have taken a while to get off the ground, but now craft breweries are thriving, and beer enthusiasts are loving it.

As a way to salute this groundswell of craft breweries that have taken root in WNY, the New York State Brewers Association has partnered with the Western New York Craft Brewers Guild to host the 2nd Annual New York State Craft Brewers Festival at Buffalo. The festival will take place on Saturday, September 25, at Canalside.

The festival will will offer up plenty of beer sampling, live music (performance by Gravy), experiential activities, and local food vendors. Attendees can look forward to:

  • 45+ New York State Craft Breweries will sample their best brews, featuring more than 20 located in Western New York region
  • Many participating breweries recently awarded medals in New York State Craft Beer Competition
  • This event is the only local craft beer festival hosted by the owners and brewers, offers a unique opportunity to meet the people behind the beer
  • Industry connection to local agriculture and Buffalo’s brewing history to be spotlights of event

Altogether, there will be 45+ breweries from across the state at this sampling event, which is hosted by the brewers (many of whom are New York State Craft Beer Competition medal awardees). Along with lots of beer sampling, there will be a Farm-to-Pint tent featuring local farmers, hop producers, and maltsters. There will also be a Buffalo brewing history showcase, highlighting Buffalo’s pre-prohibition brewing industry.

“Western New York has become such an important part of the entire New York State craft beer scene. We are so excited to be working with the Western New York Brewers Guild to showcase the incredible beer being produced from every region in the state at our first craft brewers festival in 2 years.” – Paul Leone, Executive Director- New York State Brewers Association

“As a newly formed organization, ‘For brewers, by brewers’, the WNY Brewers Guild is elated to bring this marquis beer event back to WNY and the city of Buffalo. We believe our partnership with the NYSBA is vital to the success and prosperity of the WNY brewing industry. The WNY Brewers Guild is honored to collaborate with the NYSBA on this truly unique event. Local breweries have positively impacted our entire region in many ways and we are excited to show off WNY’s incredible beer scene at this festival. We look forward to hosting this event for years to come and we encourage WNY community members to support the event and their craft breweries by attending!” – Jason Havens, President- Western New York Brewers Guild
