Nourish in Nature: A Healing-Oriented Approach to Integrating Food + Medicine

HER KitchenEat Well Buffalo, and Crown Hill Farm have come together to offer a multi-course farm-to-table dinner & farm tour that covers a number of healthy bases. Each one of these health-oriented groups is bringing something special to the table on Sunday, August 29… not to mention that the table in question is ideally situated at Crown Hill Farm.

For anyone who has been looking for a great escape, to ‘immerse oneself’ into the ultimate wellness experience (focused on a love of delicious plant-based food + healthy mocktails), this unique event aims to “bridge the gap between food + medicine.” This is not your typical farm-to-table dining experience. This is an expertly curated affair – a real eye opener into a world that we don’t get to see very often.

In this day and age, we are bombarded with fast foods that are deficient in nutrients. As we live our busy lives, we do our best to eat right, but it can be a struggle. This dinner engagement is a spirited life lesson for those who believe in the healing nature of food, sourced directly from regional organic farms.

The ulti-course farm-to-table dinner & farm tour features:

  • The Chef: Chef Valentina Garcia Montaño
  • The Doctor: Dr. Jen Jennings of Cardea Health Integrative
  • The Farmer: Missy Singer DuMars of Crown Hill Farm

This event is part of the The Living Plate series, hosted by HER Kitchen.

Sit down to a beautiful + nutritious meal prepared by Chef Valentina Garcia Montaño. As you dine, Dr. Jen Jennings + the HER Kitchen team will talk to you about the health benefits of the ingredients on each plate, and how to integrate your food as your medicine. In order to work with what is at its best, the full menu will not be finalized until soon before the dinner.

Be greeted to Crown Hill Farm by Missy Singer DuMars with a tour of the farm and discussion of what is in season. Learn about the unique vegetable varieties we grow – chosen for flavor, color, joy & regional adaptability. Hear a bit of the rich history of Crown Hill Farm, from its farmhouse to its multiple owners as varied as what the gardens now grow!

Then, dine in the grove, as you sit amongst the fullness of the apple orchard, gardens, surrounding hay field & vineyard. Take in the beauty of the early evening light as you experience truly farm-to-table ingredients, in addition to hand-selected beverage pairings chosen to compliment each course.
