The Bills did exactly what they were supposed to do vs the Jets and the Giants and now they have a chance to go 3-0 with a less talented Bengals team coming to town. Josh Allen has shown improvement in both games and the 98 yard drive, which included a key 3rd and 6 conversion, was exactly what I wanted to see from a potential franchise QB. I think we all knew that if Buffalo was going to have a legit shot this year, they had to start beating the inferior teams.
You could not have asked for a better half of football from Allen as he threw for over 200 yards by halftime. If I was to have one complaint, it would be aimed at the conservative play calling with time on the clock and 2 timeouts. Buffalo was up by 2 TDS and a field goal would have forced the Giants to become a one dimensional team. Once the Bills start playing some playoff teams, that type of mindset is not going to cut it. I do love, that in both games the passing has been something that the coaches are relying on more and more.
The most encouraging signs are that Allen is getting more and more confident each and every game, and Singletary may just be the real deal at running back. The offensive line has been decent for now and I expect them to get better and better as they continue to gel. This team is heading in the right direction and the stadium is going to be absolutely rocking for the home opener this Sunday. Let’s keep the injuries to a minimum and get out of week 3 with another W. The attitude on this team is fantastic, and they do not come across as a group who would even consider looking past the Bengals towards the Patriots.
