Stop Gun Violence Rallies: Gun Control Rally | Recess Rally – Congress, Do your job!

The fact that there are still people out there defending the sales/possession of assault weapons is ludicrous. When people push for gun control, it’s just that – controlling the sales/possession of weapons. And we continue to see the results of a gun crazed society: just about every week – people walking into schools and businesses, loaded to the hilt with artillery, looking to kill as many people as possible.

Congress is on recess, but gun violence is not!

Personally, I am not anti-gun. One day, I  plan on applying for my handgun license – there, I said it. So I’m clearly not saying that people should not have the right to arm and defend themselves. I am however, against the sales/possession of any type of weapon that can mow people down effortlessly. That is my concern, as it is the concern of many others.

This coming weekend, there are two gun control rallies taking place in Downtown Buffalo at Niagara Square:

  • Friday, August 16 | 5-6:30pm | Niagara Square | Gun Control Rally
  • Sunday, August 18 | 2-4pm | Niagara Square | Recess Rally – Congress: Do your job!

Look for speakers, chants, music, and prayer services for those who have lost their lives to gun violence. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs along with them.

Sunday’s event is one of so many in communities, all across the country, demanding Congress take action when they return to work.” – WNY Peace Center
