One of the most exciting developments to happen on the West Side as of late is the opening of Massachusetts Avenue Project’s (MAP) Farmhouse & Community Food Training Center. Ever since the project’s ribbon cutting this past December, MAP has been preparing for a big event, which includes a tour of the farm and the facilities, harvest-inspired foods served up by local chefs and MAP Youth, local beverages, with an overarching theme of farm to fork.
This event promotes the importance of local food and knowing more about where your food comes from.
The event, called Raising the Roots, will give guests a chance to see firsthand the inner-workings of the farm and food facility, while shining a light on the importance of supporting and growing our local food systems. There will also be plenty of fresh seasonal foods, demonstrations on sustainable agriculture, urban beekeeping, and a chance to bid on a variety of food, agricultural, and nature-inspired items.
Tickets are now on sale for this fantastic informative event, with discounted early bird tickets available through August 25.
