There’s a relatively new small business network that has bubbled up, which is orchestrated and promoted by Brennon A Hall (Beats Anonymous). Following is a Q&A with Hall, regarding his group and his event series.
When did Building Buffalo get off the ground?
Building Buffalo is a small business network setup in the winter of 2019.
When does the group meet?
Our group holds FREE casual meet ups every second Tuesday of every month. Our team also arranges FREE small business seminars with our network partners and affiliates.
And for what purpose?
This is a great place for those who own businesses, and those who may want to own businesses in the future or just want to learn more about local business can gather in a no pressure environment.
You run this?
I personally run Bridge Studios NY, The Indie-Visuals, and the Building Buffalo venture.
What drives you to promote these gatherings?
I think educating yourself and having a large network of resources and associates is one of the most important things in business and scaling growth. When Building Buffalo was started I simply wanted to give those around me who had ambition and the will to learn more, grow their networks and stay busy… but there was no outlet… a place to entertain those thoughts and actions.
What’s a session of Building Buffalo like?
Building Buffalo is always open to hearing what topics you would like to learn about more as well so please DM or comment topics you’d like us to cover at our seminars.
Are there Building Buffalo side projects?
Outside of our monthly meet ups and seminar series we actually run a “Affiliate Program”. Our affiliate program is truly very simple for the consumer and the business owner. If you purchase a pin from one of our events (or DM us on social media) you can now receive 10% off your purchases at any local affiliate business of ours (Trend Up, Ms. Eye Candy, Meridian Business Partners, Gurlface LLC, Bridge Studios NY, Maslanka Lawn Care, and many more). Our local affiliates can also be spotted via the official affiliate stickers on their storefronts/counters as well as by following us on Instagram for our “affiliate highlights”.
The next Building Buffalo meet-up takes place on Tuesday, August 13 (6-9pm) at Big Ditch Brewing. This event is very special because the guest DJ is Mike Cutler, who recently returned to Buffalo. When Mike Cutler (DJ Cutler) left Buffalo and moved to Colorado, it was a sad day for this city. Cutler was a prolific DJ around town, and he added so much to Buffalo’s party scene. Not only that, he’s just a great guy, loved by everyone. Over the years, I’ve talked about a few key personalities that are so entrenched in Buffalo, that when they pull out and move away, you can almost feel the seismic shift in the universe. Fortunately, Buffalo is known for drawing people back into its belly… it’s some sort of gravitational pull that is hard to resist. And that’s exactly what happened with Cutler, who is now back in the fold. Be sure to check him out at this upcoming Bridge Buffalo event.
