Buffalo’s Polish heritage is shining brighter than ever. It all started with Dyngus Day – a celebration of Polish heritage and culture. That annual celebration has spun off myriad Polish pride products and events, mainly revolving around beer and spirits. Before Dyngus Day, not many people were aware of the existence of a spirit called Krupnik – a Polish honey liquor. But these days, Krupnik is synonymous with Buffalo, which is now being called “the Krupnik Capital of America” thanks to the city-wide celebration of Dyngus Day, and local distilleries crafting the spirit, which continues to grow in popularity.
In order to spread the good word of Krupnik even further, Buffalo Distilling Co. has launched an annual festival dedicated to the drink called Kruptoberfest. The idea was born after the distillery won “a Platinum Medal by the Great American International Spirits Competition making One Foot Cock Krupnik America’s highest award winning Krupnik!”
“We are humbled by this award and grateful for all of your support allowing us to make this fine spirit right here in Buffalo, NY. – the Krupnik Capital of America.” – Buffalo Distilling Co.
