Saturday, August 3, Drum Circles of WNY will be hosting the 7th Annual Drums Along Hoyt Lake, from 1pm to 3pm. This is a free community drum circle that has gotten fairly popular over the years. The two hour drumming session will take place near the Marcy Casino, behind the Albright-Knox. You should not have a hard time finding a drum circle, just listen for the drumming, or feel the vibrations in the air.
Drum Circles of WNY organizes a number of drumming sessions throughout the course of the year. Each of the gatherings is different, depending on the location, the participants, the weather, the variety of drums, and even the costumes. There is a Facebook group, for anyone who would like to join. You don’t have to be a professional drummer to join in on the fun – you just have to like/love to drum. You are guaranteed to meet some inspirational people along the way!
Drummers from Drum Circles of WNY will also be participating in The Flutterby Festival on Saturday, August 10, on Elmwood Avenue – time and location to be determined.
It’s time to grab your drum, and meet up with others who share a fascinating with drumming in and around Buffalo. You never know when or where the next drum circle will appear, but now you will always be prepared when the call to drum occurs.
