Love & Sex Show: Play with Me

On Friday, February 15, Squeaky Wheel will be hosting its annual erotica bash, where the sky is (almost) the limit when it comes to exploring the inner and outer depths of heightened titillating arousal, via game play. The risqué event, always held around Valentine’s Day, is the perfect way to spice up your life.

This year, the Love & Sex Show is dedicated as a “special video game edition”, curated by Toronto-based Dames Making Games (DMG) – “a space for genderqueer, nonbinary, femmes, Two Spirit people, and trans and cis women to create games freely.”

“DMG has put together a wonderful grouping of lusty, critical games that take on issues regarding intimacy and sexuality of video games that participants can play throughout the evening. The evening will also feature group play-a-longs, cooperative games, and more. We encourage participants to dress up in costume/cosplay and be part of a costume contest sponsored by Evergreen Health, and we’ll have a unique drink special for the evening as well.” – Ekrem Serdar, Curator Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Art Center

  • A lusty, critical line-up of independent video games
  • Dating simulators
  • Co-op play-a-longs
  • DMG representatives Izzie Colpitts-Campbell and Jennie Faber will lead group playthroughs
  • Highlight works by milkymilkface, Maxwell Lander, Robert Yang, Spooklight games, and other games that explore how we navigate and understand intimacy

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
