5th Annual JazzBuffalo Poll Awards Night at Hotel Henry Jazz Concert Series

The rebirth of jazz in Buffalo is exciting on many levels. First, there’s the opportunity to see incredible jazz acts on a regular basis. Second, with a whole new wave of jazz appreciation, comes a new and more devoted fan base. Finally, thanks to the efforts of JazzBuffalo, local jazz aficionados are able to participate in an annual poll, which is followed up by an awards ceremony and celebration.

This is the 5th year that JazzBuffalo has conducted the poll. According to JazzBuffalo, since first launching the initiative, the amount of votes tallied has more than doubled. This year alone garnered over 2,300 votes, which were counted in 35 categories. Two new music categories added this year were Jazz-Pop and Jazz-World. Jazz advocates say that the appearance of the additional categories is another way to gauge the growing jazz movement in the region.

The results of the 5th Annual JazzBuffalo Poll will be announced on Wednesday, February 13 at the Hotel Henry Jazz Concert Series, starting at 7pm. On that evening, there will be a live performance by 4-times JazzBuffalo Poll winner for Latin Jazz, Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble beginning at 7:30 pm.

More information and tickets for this special awards evening, and the concert performance by the Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble, are available on JazzBuffalo at  Or, you can go directly to EventBrite to purchase tickets.
