On Saturday, January 12, members of Buffalo’s pinball community will be coming together at Community Beer Works (CBW) to play the game that they love best, while raising funds for People United for Sustainable Housing (PUSH). These are the types of support efforts that make Buffalo strong. CBW has always rallied behind the efforts of those in the community that set out to create vibrant, livable, sustainable, neighborhoods. By teaming up with PUSH, CBW is also advancing efforts to bring more affordable housing to the city, while supporting local hiring opportunities, all in the name of economic justice. Here are all of the tournament details, provided by CBW:
Cost to enter is $20, 100% of which will go to PUSH Buffalo. You’ll also need money to coin-up the games, half of which will be donated to PUSH as well.
Tournament format is limited entry HERB style tournament. There will be 5 games selected for the tournament. Players will be given 12 entries as part of their registration (you can not buy any more). Each time you play a game, you use an entry. You need to play all 5 games at least once. You can use your entries to try multiple times on the same game, in order to better your score.
**You can show up anytime between Noon – 7pm to play your games** In other words, you don’t have to be there all day to enter.
Scoring for games will be 100, 90, 85, 84…etc.
Top 6 players at 7pm will head to the playoffs with top 2 getting byes to the finals. If we have 24 players or more, the top 10 will go to the playoffs, with the top 2 getting byes to the finals.
Playoff format will be PAPA style (3 games each round with 4,2,1,0 scoring).
This is an official IFPA tournament.
