Buffalo’s 5th Annual Big Gay Sing

On Saturday, February 23, from 6:30 PM to 10 PM, the Buffalo Gay Mens Chorus (BGMC) will be hosting the 5th Annual Big Gay Sing. This is the first year that BGMC is hosting the event – in previous year it was run by Evergreen Health, and included as part of the Pride Festival. When Evergreen dropped the event from its roster, BGMC knew that it was too good to let go, and rolled the dice.

This year’s Big Gay Sing will be held at Roswell Park’s Hohn Auditorium. Emcee for the event is Mrs. Kasha Davis (RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7).

“The Big Gay Sing is actually a patented brand, and the event gets replicated in cities all over,” said BGMC’s Chris Treacy. “It’s a fun event where the audience sings what are hopefully familiar tunes from Broadway and also pop songs from stereotypical divas favored by the gay crew. The chorus sorta leads, but it’s more about spirit than skill – it’s about fun and just letting go and maybe being silly with a crew of similarly minded people (not entirely unlike karaoke). It’s only $15 and it goes to helping us finance our future endeavors.”

You heard him! You don’t have to be a singer extraordinaire, all you have to do is have team spirit and a penchant for good fun. Mrs. Kasha Davis will handle the rest.
