Albright-Knox Art Gallery hosts “Reel Talk,” The Letter: An American Town and the “Somali Invasion”

In conjunction with the exhibition We the People: New Art from the Collection, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery is hosting a new film series titled, Reel Talk, which aims to exam the contemporary themes explored in the exhibition. Free guided tours will be available before each screening, starting at 6:30 pm. The film begins at 7:15 pm. Reel Talk: The Letter: An American Town and the “Somali Invasion” (2003)  is presented in Partnership with Journey’s End Refugee Services as part of the Western New York Refugee Film Festival

As part of this screening, guests will also hear individual stories from members of Buffalo’s Somali community.

Following the film screening, guests are invited to gather in AK Café for a reception catered by Abyssinia and a cash bar.
