It’s been a crazy winter so far. Up until this past weekend there was hardly any snow. Now we’ve got a winter wonderland outside. This coming Wednesday, the weather forecast calls for rain. When it comes to modern day winters, we really can’t rely on the weather, one way or the other. What we can rely upon is Larkinville’s Annual Ice Festival. No matter the weather, the Ice Festival always goes off without a hitch.
2019 marks the 5th year of Larkinville’s Ice Festival. Participants in this year’s event include:
Larkin Square, The Filling Station, Hydraulic Hearth, Swan Street Diner, Buffalo Distilling Co., Flying Bison Brewing Company, Larkin Center of Commerce, Eckl’s at Larkin and Kornerstone Café Larkin.
Following are just some of the activities that you can look forward to:
- Special programming at businesses along Seneca Street
- A vendor market on the heated boardwalk
- Kids activities
- Snow yoga thanks to Independent Health & YMCA Buffalo Niagara
- Ice sculpture
- Alpacas from Thistle Creek Alpacas
- Performances by The Bird’s Nest Circus Arts
- Flying Bison & Buffalo Distilling will once again be hosting Buffalo Groundhog Day
- Explore the neighborhood through horse drawn carriage rides
- Grab a bite to eat at the participating restaurants
Bring the whole family down to the event this year, and see what all of the excitement is all about. Grab some food, a hot drink, and discover why so many people have come to love this winter escapade that has become a Larkinville tradition.
