Renovation work at Studio 806 on Elmwood is nearing completion. Back in October of 2016, we posted on an exciting addition to the salon that would extend the building’s frontage outward towards the street. At the time, we posted renderings of the concept. Today, those renderings have sprung to life, by way of a snazzy glass addition.
When we initially posted on the proposal, building/salon owner Lauren Goretti-Neri, has this to say about the addition. “We will have express services such blow outs, and full service barbering,” said Goretti-Neri. “Very exciting! We’re also changing up the floor plan upstairs to create a more open environment, while maintaining our comfortable atmosphere.”
Over the years, we’ve posted on how these types of facade add-ons can help to create a more vibrant street. It would be great to see more of these types of sleek additions built out along the mostly residential stretches of Elmwood. If that was to happen, there would be more commercial connectivity and infill, which would help to unify the street.
