Happy Hour to help out a great cause…sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Not on Wednesday, October 10th at Eckl’s (Larkin) when people from across Buffalo Niagara will come together to support Cradle Beach at Connect for Cradle Beach.
Since the late 1800’s Cradle Beach has been serving disadvantaged children from WNY. What began as an initiative to get children fresh air and access to sand, sun, and the lake has developed into a year-round mission to serve today’s disadvantaged and disabled youth through socialization, self-worth, and decision making.
Certainly, it can be said that Cradle Beach is not only an asset to families in our region, but truly a haven for children who need it most.
“One camper was thrilled to come to summer camp this year, it was the first time he ever went swimming. He is in a wheelchair and has never had the opportunity to go swimming like all of his friends. After swim, he was fist bumping all of his friends and counselors, so proud of his “first” swim. Moments like this happen everyday at Cradle Beach, it is a magical place where kids can be kids.”- from Cradle Beach Director of Strategic Advancement, Sue Navarro
Among the event sponsors is National Grid, which is offering a prize for those who attend the Oct. 10 event.
“National Grid is happy to match the total amount raised at Connect for Cradle Beach, and is also donating a pair of Buffalo Sabres tickets as a door prize,” said National Grid regional manager Ken Kujawa.
Those in attendance will be automatically entered to win the 200-level tickets, which are for the Nov. 10 game against the Vancouver Canucks.
Come out and connect for Cradle Beach next Wednesday, October 10th at Eckl’s (Larkin). Bring a co-worker, friend, or group! Tickets are $15 pre-sale or $20 at the door; all proceeds will go directly to Cradle Beach…and that amount will be matched by National Grid.
See you next week!
