Explore & More Children’s Museum Second Annual grownups-only scavenger hunt

Need a little fun in your life? Want to feel like a kid again? On Tuesday, October 2, join Explore & More Children’s Museum for an urban adventure as they host their second annual grownups-only scavenger hunt.

A limited number of pre-registered teams will have 90 minutes to complete various adventures around the city. An app will reveal clues and ask participants to answer fun trivia about WNY. The scavenger hunt is followed by the Finish Line Party at 500 Seneca Street, where great prizes will be awarded and, better yet, all proceeds will benefit Explore & More Children’s Museum. The cost to join this adventure is $250 per vehicle, and can consist of 5 individuals.

As natural adventure seekers, Buffalo Rising is a proud sponsor of this event that encourages play and exploring our city. We have even provided one of the clues. Registration is filling up fast, but don’t feel left out, you can follow along on Buffalo Rising’s instagram, @_BuffaloRising.

ABOUT Explore & More Children’s Museum

Over two decades ago, Explore & More opened in a 500-square foot room in a school basement. The idea of having high-quality play-based learning for children from all over Western New York had been cultivated in the minds of a small group of dedicated parents, educators and toy designers. The museum with its all-volunteer staff saw 1,000 visitors that first year. Flash forward 24 years later, and Explore & More now occupies a space 14 times that size, serving over 63,000 children and their family members each year. Several national and international studies since have continued to confirm the idea on which the Museum began—that play is essential to healthy brain development in children.

With nationally recognized and award-winning programs and exhibits, the most generous free admission policy in the area, and a mission to provide critically important informal learning experiences for all, Explore & More has become an important asset to the wellbeing of children and families in Western New York.

Beginning in 2007, Explore & More became the first organization to offer free programming at Canalside. That early partnership with the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation led to Explore & More being selected as a future anchor attraction on Buffalo’s revitalized waterfront – a year-round draw for residents and tourists that will ignite children’s imagination, economic development and community partnerships. Explore & More is slated to open its doors with soft openings as exhibits are installed floor by floor starting in December of 2018 and a public opening in Spring of 2019 and is working to complete a multi-million dollar capital campaign to support the effort.
