After 30 years, The Galbani® Buffalo Italian Heritage Festival heads to the Waterfront

After years of hosting The Galbani® Buffalo Italian Heritage Festival in North Buffalo, the event is moving to a new location at the Buffalo Outer Harbor. This is a real game changer for the festival, which originated on the city’s West Side (on Connecticut Street).

Event highlights include a live performance by Sal Valentinetti, a finalist on “America’s Got Talent,” Season 11 and the always popular Celebrity Galbani® Cheese Building Contest.

The “Italian Festival”, considered the nation’s second largest street festival, will be a street festival no more. But don’t worry, the event will still have all of the Italian traditions that you have come to love over time. For 30 years, this festival has been paying respects to the city’s Italian community, with food, drink, music, games and various other cultural traditions, including:

  • Bocce ball tournament
  • Italian Idol and Miss Italian Festival competition
  • Cultural heritage activities
  • Local entertainment
  • Children’s activities and crafts
  • Grape stomping contests
  • Italian car show
  • Sicilian puppet shows
  • Ducati motorcycle show is Saturday
  • Classic and Alfa Romeo and Ferrari car show is Sunday

Now, the festival is spreading its wings once again.

2017 marks a new era for The Galbani® Buffalo Italian Heritage Festival.
