A free and fun way to get healthy, Buffalo!

Are you a fan of yoga and being outdoors? Yes? Well, then we have the perfect activity series for you. Throughout the summer, you are invited to engage in a number of healthy regimens, including cardio kickboxing, freestyle barre, power pilate and yoga. Best of all, these activities are free, and held outdoors at a number of different key Buffalo destinations.

  • FREE 60-minute classes led by YMCA certified instructors
  • 21 parks across WNY – NEW locations include Outer Harbor Buffalo!
  • Over 400 classes – including NEW Classes like Pound®, FreeStyle Barre and BollyX
  • FREE parking at all locations
  • No registration required; just show up!


Bidwell Park – Yoga every Sat., 10 a.m. (near Elmwood, across from farmers’ market)
Larkin Square – Yoga every Mon., 5:30 p.m.
Larkin Square – Cardio Kickboxing every Thu., 5:30 p.m.
Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (Colby Park at Buffalo General Medical Center) – Yoga every Wed., 5:30 p.m.
Buffalo RiverWorks – FreeStyle Barre (NEW CLASS!) every Sat., 10 a.m.
Delaware Park – Yoga every Sun., 10 a.m. (near Rose Garden)
Delaware Park – Youth Circuit (NEW CLASS!) every Tue., 6 p.m. (Amherst/Colvin Green Space)
Outer Harbor Buffalo – Power Pilates (NEW CLASS!) every Tue. and Thu., 6 p.m. (Wilkeson Pointe)

The driving concept of Fitness in the Parks is simple. Independent Health and YMCA Buffalo Niagara have teamed up to ensure that everyone has access to an array of healthy activities. These workouts are all-ages, and all skill levels, which means that anyone can join in on the fun. Best of all, you don’t have to plan for these classes. Simply arrive whenever you feel like you have some free time. There’s no pressure. The classes are designed so that everyone can participate, get healthy and have fun.
