Hallelujah, summer temps are coming back for the weekend with a forecasted high of 70 degrees. Join us for a Pop Up Playdate Café Saturday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to Noon at Tifft Nature Preserve. Ideal for families with young children up to about age seven, the morning provides a curated play space of Loose Parts, dirt, sand, and water for kids to meddle with as much as they please while their parents cultivate friendships and enjoy Tipico Coffee and Butter Block pastries at a respectable and safe distance.
The kids love it for the number of play combinations they can invent among themselves, the parents for a chance to be social amidst the beautiful backdrop of Tifft Nature Preserve’s woods, lake, and wild life. Sometimes the small people set up a mud kitchen bake shop, other times they collect and count worms while generally enjoying random puddles and balancing on fallen logs.
May pastry selections from Butter Block include: Lemon Blueberry Pop Tarts, Rhubarb Danish, Pain au Chocolat, and Almond Croissant. We recommend you order in multiples, you won’t regret it and there are never leftovers. Tipico Coffee offers a wonderful complement of delectable coffee, cream, and sweetener. All combined it is a most satisfying weekend morning for everyone and their friends, old and new. Especially when you want to be able to coordinate a chance for family fun and adult conversation.
The Backyard Atelier is an outdoor, play-based early childhood program that draws inspiration from the Adventure Playground movement (playwork), Reggio Emilia Approach and Forest schools of Europe. By creating a curated space that prioritizes each child’s play agenda, children are encouraged to explore their interests, questions and big ideas through open-ended, child-directed, loose parts play.
Details and registration are available at www.popupplaydatecafe.com. Register by midnight Friday, May 19th to ensure your pastry selection and confirm your attendance.
