If you’ve ever thought about attending an opera, but the ideal of sitting in an opera house or theatre is not your scene, you’re in luck. On Friday, May 26, Nickel City Opera (NCO) presents the operatic production of THE IMPRESARIO onboard the USS Little Rock!
The opera (a Mozart overture) is about the hilarious backstage snags and snafus that go into producing an opera. And what better set to showcase such a comedy than onboard a giant decommissioned Navy cruiser?
To make it easier to understand, this opera will be presented in English. Food and drink will be available.
This is a new event for NCO, so be sure to get your tickets early because it’s not everyday that you get to witness the performance of an opera on a decommissioned warship.

For those of you who really want to get a behind the scenes look at opera production, consider taking a masterclass with maestro Matthias Manasi (Berlin), who will be providing accompaniment for The Impresario.
This is an incredible opportunity to be taught the ins and outs of opera, by a professional who travels the European opera market. “Your singing will act as an audition for one of the many concerts which Maestro Manasi produces every year.”
