Chances are, we all know of someone who has been impacted by a serious illness – someone who has been in need of Hospice services. On any given day, Hospice tends to 500 people in Buffalo… people who are in need of specialized care, who have been affected by a long-term or life-limiting illness.
Throughout the course of the year, there are a number of fundraising initiatives designed to raise money for the outstanding work provided by the Hospice team. One of those ‘calls to action’ is the Hospice Memorial Walk.
Hospice Buffalo cares for seriously ill people with a prognosis of 6 months or less to live.
Now in its 21st year, the 2017 Hospice Memorial Walk is looking to the community to raise awareness of the selfless benefits of the organization, while paying tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us. The memorial walk is being held at Canalside on Sunday, May 21, starting at 11am. The event includes a 5k walk or 1 mile Fun Walk, picnic lunch sponsored by Wegmans, games, prizes, mascots, face painting, and music.
