A Western New Yorker has written and recorded an original jingle, which she has submitted to Folgers Coffee for the company’s Jingle Contest. Singer, songwriter, female emcee Wenzday Atemz recently posted the a capella jingle on her Facebook page, and was delighted when she realized that the song had gone viral. Now Wenzday, who has gained popularity by opening for industry artists such as 50 Cent and Eddie Money, is looking to spread the word about her latest singing and rapping efforts. What is most intriguing about this jingle is that there are no instruments used – Wenzday’s incredible talent as a beatboxer is the only “instrument” featured.
“I also do motivational speaking and school tour performances for at risk youth and surrounding area colleges,” said Wenzday, upon reaching out to Buffalo Rising to garner additional exposure. “I’ve been hired by the GooGoo Dolls, and I have been on two reality shows. I am very versatile, and cross over with my music style. Well, I recently wrote and recorded this Folgers jingle to submit to their company. When I posted it on my FB page a couple of days ago it instantly started going viral. There or no instruments at all in this jingle. I’m using just my mouth – beatboxing, singing and rapping the entire thing myself. This is a complete a capella jingle.”
The video is produced and directed by Christopher Perricelli of New Realm Studio, with help of arrangement, mastering and studio production by Rob D’Alessandro of Garden Recordings.
Voting for the contest begins today. Winners will be announced on May 8, 2017.
