So you think you can make badass kielbasa?

What’s better than a great kielbasa? The BEST kielbasa of course! And where can you find the best kielbasa? Well, contestants are already lining up to showcase their delicious kielbasa creations, to compete in Buffalo’s Best Kielbasa Contest. This year, the competition is open to caterers, seasoned chefs and other culinary pros that believe that their kielbasa is king. Contestants can enter their creations in order to win in one of the following categories: Homemade, Commercial, Wholesale Kielbasa and People’s Choice Winner. Applications are being accepted through April 3rd.

This Contest will converge Dyngus Day revelers, polish beer connoisseurs, and polish sausage lovers into the Heart of Polonia to determine Buffalo’s Best Kielbasa.

The Broadway Market and Adam Mickiewicz Library & Dramatic Circle (Mickey’s) are rallying kielbasa makers to submit their all-star sausages by filling out an application to compete (see below). The contest is set to coincide with Dyngus Day – April 17, 2017 at 12:00 PM.

Start off your Dyngus Day the right way, by battling it out for top honors when it comes to your coveted kielbasa recipe. If you win, you will be set up with a basket of Polish Cheer, and the bestowed honor and recognition as kielbasa king or queen.

During the contest, a Polish Beer Bar will offer unique brands of Polish Beer.

The contest will be held at The Broadway Market, 999 Broadway, from noon to 2pm. Admission to the event is free. Tickets for Kielbasa Tastings will be sold for .50¢ each. Those in attendance will receive a ballot to vote for the People’s Choice Contest (which means you get to sample the best from the Commercial Vendors and help decide the People’s Choice Winner) Anyone who wishes to participate in the kielbasa contest must register in advance by completing a registration form.

While I think this seems like a great Buffalo event, the juxtaposition in the logo, of the Buffalo and the pile of the kielbasa gives an unfortunate impression! But maybe I’m just weird.
