Lockhouse Distillery & Bar is getting ready to release its newest bottled spirit. This time, the distillery is will be unveiling Amaro, which is traditionally an after dinner drink, with Italian roots. Amaro is delicious on its own, or when incorporated into cocktails. The liquor was made possible thanks to a mash-up between Lockhouse Distillery and neighboring bar Ballyhoo. Tim Stevens, co-owner of Ballyhoo, was the inspiration behind the creation of the spirit.
Lockhouse Amaro opens with hints of orange zest and root beer, is sweetened with turbinado sugar, and is finished on American Sassafras.
Lockhouse Amaro is said to be an “innovative take” on the traditional Italian drink, while keeping in line with the origins of the spirit.
A release party is set to be held on March 31 at Lockhouse Distillery. Tim Stevens will be behind the pine that night, serving up some concoctions that showcase the depth of the spirit. The public is welcome to attend the unveiling. Along with sensational cocktails, jazz/funk quartet GRAVY will help to set the mood, starting at 8pm.
Amaro will be available at Lockhouse, and at bars, restaurants, and liquor stores in April.
