The only problem is, where the heck do you get a chance to watch the artful practice in a live studio setting? To take it a step further, where does one get a chance to learn the skills of glass blowing?
If you have ever wondered what it would be like to blow glass, then you must take hold of an incredible opportunity that is at hand. On Saturday, April 22, Jason Dederich, owner of Buffalo Glass Company (FB), will be offering up a demonstration class at The Foundry. This is your chance to discover the magical world of galls blowing, as taught by a local expert who is now sharing his skills with others.
The class will cover:
Pipe turning, either using one or two hands
Left or right-handed stance
Pipe/Body/Hand positioning
Heating Glass
Point Turning
Marvering
Marvering in the air
Reset point on center
Basic glass balancing
Beginner Glassblowing Class
