CBW Pinball Weekend

Welcome back to the good old days – the days of playing pinball with a beer in hand.

When was the last time that you saw a pinball machine? It’s incredible to think that they have all disappeared, except at bowling alleys and the occasional game center. There was time when pinball machines were everywhere, tucked into corners of local shops and markets. Ah, those were the good old days.

If you yearn to return to those good old day, then Community Beer Works (CBW) has got you covered. For a four day stint, during standard operational brewery hours, pinball fans are invited over to the brewery to play on the following machines – Terminator 2, The Sopranos, Eightball Deluxe, and another TBD.

CBW has hooked up with Pocketeer Billiards and Sports Bar to feature the games. For the first time, you will be able to unwind with a CBW beer, while playing some throwback pinball. Plus, half of the coins that get thrown into the slots will be dedicated to  Pinball EDU Charity, 501c3. CBW will also be contributing $1 from every pint purchased during the event to the same charity.

Four days of beer launches, micro events, tournaments, pinball tutorials, live broadcasts, and food truck visits.

As if that’s not enough, CBW has broken down each of the four days into a series of beer launches, micro events, tournaments, pinball tutorials, live broadcasts, and food truck visits. Here’s the complete breakdown:

On Thursday, we are releasing Rage Tilt APA, an easy drinking 5.5% ABV American pale ale made with Amarillo, Galaxy, and Azacca hops with lots of tropical fruits and citrus meant for knockin’ the chrome balls around. Plus, the bros from Buffalo Pinball are going to be in house to livestream Bro, Do You Even Pinball?; a tutorial on how to play Terminator 2 which will be broadcast live from at 8pm EST and thus, we are going to extend retail hours until 9pm that night! See Facebook event.

On Friday, we are releasing East Meets West: A Cross State Love Story, a 4.7% ABV American Pale Ale brewed with pale and pilsner malts for a soft, smooth mouthfeel, a light bitterness, and a sticky American hop aroma and flavor that our very own Ryan Demler and Kevin Mullen of Rare Form Brewing Company collaborated to make! See Facebook event.

On Saturday, we are holding our very first CBW Charity Pinball Tournament. A $1 donation to Pinball EDU Charity, 501c3 gets you one registration (you can try more than once!) into the tournament and a raffle ticket. We will be giving prizes away over the course of the day from CBW, Stern Pinball, Jersey Jack Pinball, The Pinball Arcade, Nickel City Con, Double Danger Pinball Accessories, and Tiltcycle. On top of that, we have some larger prizes (like some Sabres Tickets, Nickel City Con Weekend Tickets, a GhostBusters Translite, even the chance to win a pinball machine) that will be announced at 8pm on Thursday, 03/16 LIVE on Bro, Do You Even Pinball (see link above). There will also be prizes for best AND worst ranking players in the day. But in order to win anything, YOU HAVE TO COME TO THE BREWERY! Also, Frank Gourmet Hot Dogs food truck will be here to sate your hunger after expending all of your energy on pinball! See Facebook event.

Finally, on Sunday, we have an Employee Test Batch Release from our Sales Manager / Local Beer Celebrity, Brendon Van Allen, Üm Chugga Willy from the Coconut Grove, an 8.2% ABV Robust Porter with 10lbs of fresh roasted coconut courtesy of Essex St. Pub. See Facebook event.
