Although Tara Gift Shoppe in South Buffalo is mostly known for its traditional Irish wares, we happened across a couple of Buffalo-centric gift items that would make great gifts for the holidays.
For example, we spotted a pewter “made in Mullingar” key chain bottle opener ($18.99), money clip ($18.99) and ornamental key fob ($25.99) sitting on one of the shelves. These gift items are super sharp and would made excellent practical keepsakes.
We also spied a handsome bow tie, and a necktie that would have made former Mayor Jimmy Griffin proud. Both Buffalo ties run $27.99, and only come in Irish green of course.
Tara Gift Shoppe is one of the oldest Irish gift shops in the country.
When asked what he loved most about Buffalo, Thomas Heneghan, whose family owns the gift shop, stated that he was fond of the food. He said that his two favorite restaurants at the moment are Left Bank and Bar Bill Tavern.
Shoppers at Tara Gift Shoppe can take 15% off merchandise throughout the month of December.
