I was afforded an opportunity inside this pair of beauties on Broadway for sale, recently highlighted by BRO here to share the wonderful interior with a wider audience. While it is no surprise that the building requires a full blown rehab, the interior is very intact to its original layout and use. The interior hallways for the apartments were once filled with natural light by light wells that have since been covered over and speak to a different era of living.
While the apartments retain much of their original floor plan, doors, trim, etc. one thing stands out; they do no have their own bathrooms. In typical tenement housingof the era, there are one or two shared toilet rooms in the corridors owing to how intact the upper floors of the building still are today. The possibilities are limitless and this duo just need the right owner, with the right vision to breath new life into them. Here is the listing for the buildings and here is the full set of photos for your viewing pleasure. Although the building has no determination presently for National Register eligibility and the tax credits that come along with it, it certainly would be worth exploring for any potential developer looking into it.
