When it comes to the holidays in Buffalo, for some people it’s all about the live music. Last year, a number of bands got together to celebrate the holidays, while raising money for a good cause. The event was so successful, that they’re doing it again this year.
The National & Local Favorites will be holding a One-Night-Only Charity Concert at Buffalo’s Legendary Venue.
On Friday, December 23, the bands are back for another go around. This time they will be raising money for Planned Parenthood Of WNY.
“Last year when TJ Zindle (Last Conservative) and I had the idea to have a charity concert during the Holidays, we never expected the amazing response we got from the Buffalo music community,” said Andrew Reimers of CPX. “We sold the venue out and were able to accomplish more than we even imagined. We decided this needed to become an annual event and to add some more of our friends to the show.”
About the bands:
Last Conservative, fronted by T.J. Zindle, started in the Late 90’s and found immediate success both locally and nationally. Followed up by major shows and tours across the U.S. And Canada with bands like The Counting Crows, Jimmy Eat World, All-American Rejects, and The Goo Goo Dolls, Last Conservative made their mark in the industry and are truly one of Buffalo’s success stories.
Son Of The Sun, described as “melodically detailed rock,” was one of the most popular bands in the Western New York area for the better part of 6 years. Started by critically acclaimed Singer/Songwriter Zak Ward, The Buffalo News even named them a “band to watch” in 2009.
CPX (formerly “The Country-Punk Extravaganza!”), the self-proclaimed “Greatest Country-Punk Band in the City of Buffalo”, tore through the city of Buffalo for over four years with a unique blend of Outlaw Country and Punk Rock before it was cool again. Fronted by Buffalo Music Award winning vocalist/fiddler Katie Panfil Clark and Artvoice Best Male Vocalist nominee Andrew J. Reimers, The CPX is getting back together for one night to help raise money for Planned Parenthood of WNY.
Also on the bill are pop-punk powerhouses Rooftops (featuring songwriter Ed Wyner) and Agent ME.
Tickets are only available at the door and will be $10.
