A Buffalo-based nail polish company is busting a move for the holidays. Gridlock Lacquer will setting up at 464 Amherst Street in Black Rock throughout the month of December. Gridlock Lacquer owner, Lisa Menchetti, decided that the space was perfect for setting up for the short term. In order to increase the viability of the pop-up venture, Lisa is bringing along some of her friends who will be setting up shop alongside her. The shop will feature indie cosmetics, local artisans, gourmet goods, seasonal clothing, home décor, gifts and accessories.
Gridlock Lacquer recently invested in a new formula to improve consistency and quality between batches.
“We are thrilled to have a customer facing presence on Amherst St. during the holiday season,” said Lisa. “As pop-up shopping grows increasingly more popular worldwide, it’s fun to use the concept to promote new products while utilizing retail space in a walkable neighborhood that may otherwise sit empty.”
Each year, Gridlock Lacquer increases its presence throughout the city, by popping up on the shelves of various local retailers (also Rochester and Pittsburgh). Now Lisa’s nail polish products are going to be popping up in a completely different way – the initiative is being branded City Sidewalks.
The pop-up shop will also give Lisa the opportunity to invite her current and future nail polish customers to stop inside for a series of “Mix Your Own Nail Polish” events – interested individuals or large groups wanting a private event can contact email@example.com for more information and availability.
Lisa will be hosting a grand opening for the month-long City Sidewalks pop-up event on December 3 – the same day as “It’s a Rockin’ River Christmas” Black Rock and Riverside bar crawl. The shop will be open to the public through December 23.
City Sidewalks’ hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 12pm to 7 pm, and Sundays from 12 until 5. The shop will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Gridlock Lacquer offers individual polishes and collections. Learn more about Gridlock Lacquer by reading this BRO article.
