Done Deal: Two Black Rock Properties Trade Hands

Realtor and investor John Fatta’s LaSalle Development LLC purchased neighboring properties in the heart of Black Rock yesterday. He picked up the two-story, circa-1890 building at 1896 Niagara Street from Peter J. Smith for $120,000. It was the long-time home to Peter J. Smith & Company, an urban design, urban and regional planning, economic development, and landscape architecture firm.


Next door at 1902-04 Niagara, he paid $485,000. The 10,718 sq.ft. building has six apartments and first floor commercial space.

Niagara Street has been an investment magnet in recent years but mostly south of Black Rock. With a relatively healthy stock of smaller, historic properties, Black Rock is due.
