Now that fall has set in, and winter is on its way, it’s time to think about all of the activities and rituals that will start to fill our calendars. From ice biking down at Canalside to X-country ski meet ups with the Buffalo Nordic Ski Club (club meets for lessons at 10AM on Sunday Mornings at the Young Lincoln Statue in Delaware Park), there are more and more ways to keep busy during the wintertime as Buffalo continues to grow.
Don’t forget, wearing a Hawaiian shirt gets you a special drink every Tuesday so start looking if you don’t have one already!
If you’re one of those people who likes winter, but would also like to keep in touch with summer, then Cantina Loco has the perfect plan in place for you this winter. Starting Tuesday, November 22 the restaurant/bar will be introducing CanTiki Tuesdays, where people are invited to arrive in Hawaiian shirts or other forms of island garb. During the Tuesday-only festivities, guests can expect to find island food that includes Hawaiian quesadillas and coconut fried rice. If the food offerings alone don’t get you in the mood, then consider the Mai Tais and other tropical drinks.
I’m a big fan of winter. It’s one of the reasons that I live here. At the same time, throwing on aHawaiian shirt and eating and drinking island-style on Tuesdays does sound enticing. Throw on a little island music and turn up the heat – this could be the perfect snow globe setting in all of Buffalo this winter.
