Wine Enthusiast has discovered Buffalo. Of course the crux of the article discusses this city’s restaurants, distilleries, breweries, etc. What is especially nice if the attention paid to a number of restaurants that don’t typically land in the spotlight when it comes to national press – Oliver’s, Ristorante Lombardo, and Bacchus Wine Bar and Restaurant. Vera and Craving also made the cut, though they tend to get a bit more press than some of the oldie but goodies.
The article also picks up on City Wine Merchant and Paradise Wine – two neighborhood friendly wine shops that have done a great job of catering to the city’s wine enthusiasts. Aside from the boutique wine purveyors, the article shines a light on this city’s beer gardens, and third wave coffee shops. Finally, the author gives a couple of hat tips to a couple of Buffalo’s re-energized cultural and architectural heavyweights – The Albright-Knox (noting the coming expansion) and the Darwin D. Martin House (a brilliant architectural success story).
