The German Side of Coles

Throughout the month of October, Coles Restaurant on Elmwood Avenue is serving up traditional German fare. It’s their way to celebrate a month of Oktoberfest. And it allows us to get our fix of German food, aside from attending all of the festivals.

Starting at 5pm evening, Coles offers a menu that features authentic German food, including potato pancakes, Oktoberfest Steak and Ale Dip, German meatballs, Flying Bison brat burger, pork schnitzel, German meatloaf, Rindergulasch (German Goulash) and Bavarian sausage.

The restaurant even has a bevy of German beers to go along with this spectacular selection of food. You still have a couple of weeks to get in to Coles, to try out this alternative menu. Rarely does a restaurant go out of its way to introduce seasonal offerings to this extent. Let’s show Coles how thankful we are that they are bringing these Bavarian delights to Elmwood.

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
