The Bills definitely caught a break yesterday when 3 out of the 4 staring D-Linemen on the Rams were declared inactive. Buffalo did a great job exploiting this as McCoy ran wild all day long. It was a tale of two halves for the offense, as Tyrod did a decent job in the first and did JUST enough to pull out the victory in the end. Defense (Washington and Alexander), special teams (Schmidt) and McCoy were the stars in this game and for the first time in 5 years, the Bills are riding a 3 game win streak. With Dareus still out of the lineup, defensive players continue to shine as Alexander now has the most sacks (7) in the entire NFL. Can we take a second to think about what this defense will look like when Dareus returns and Shaq Lawson rotates in with the rest of the linebackers that are already performing on an elite level?
This team has come a long way since the week two loss vs the Jets, and it’s time for Bills fans to ENJOY what is going on here. We all know that there have been dark times surrounding this team for quite some time and if you can’t enjoy this right now, I really don’t know what to tell you. Yes, Tyrod will need to step his game up because these passing yards are not going to cut it when the Bills face the likes of the Patriots, Steelers, Raiders, Bengals and Seahawks. For now though, the Niners and Dolphins are the next two teams on the schedule and there is a very good chance that our team will be holding a 5-2 record as the Patriots come to town. Rex has proven that with the right players in his arsenal, he is still a very good defensive coach. With Baltimore and Cinci both losing yesterday, the Bills definitely deserve to be in the playoff conversation (for now). This is a lot more fun at 3-2 than it was at 0-2. Now it’s time to sit back and see how it unfolds.
