The National Women’s Hockey League is paying a visit to Buffalo. The special occasion marks the home opener for the Buffalo Beauts, as we as the season kick-off (face-off) for the entire league. The 2016-17 regular season begins with three games in three nights, held at Buffalo’s premier hockey facility – HARBORCENTER. All four of franchise teams will be battling it out in Buffalo, and hockey fans are invited to come out and root for their home team.
The weekend also includes the inaugural NWHL Futures Tournament, featuring 16 teams, with players age U-8 to U-14, representing each of the NWHL’s four markets. The three-game NWHL weekend is also in celebration of IIHF Girls’ Hockey Weekend, which takes place Oct. 8-9.
The Beauts 2016 season brings with it a couple of new surprises, including brand new team jerseys and three hometown superstars who made the roster – forwards Emily Pfalzer and Emily Janiga along with defender Jacquie Greco. That’s three more reasons to come out and watch the games.

Friday, October 7 at 7:30 pm: Boston Pride at Buffalo Beauts
The Beauts’ home opener is a rematch of last year’s Isobel Cup Finals.
Saturday, October 8 at 7:30 pm: New York Riveters vs Boston Pride
The defending champion Pride with Olympians including Hilary Knight and Meghan Duggan take on the Riveters, featuring Amanda Kessel in her NWHL regular season debut.
Sunday, October 9 at 7:30 pm: Connecticut Whale at Buffalo Beauts
The hometown Beauts play their second game of the season against Kelli Stack and the Whale.
