Lakeward Spirits is planning its Grand Opening at The Barrel Factory on Saturday, October 8. The opening marks the completion of a significant undertaking that took a dilapidated structure and restored it into a spectacular venue in the Old First Ward.
They mill the local grain and malt themselves, and then mash, ferment, distill, and bottle their craft spirits, all at the newly-redeveloped, 113-year old historic factory building.
To kick off the Grand Opening, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 5pm. Following that, the festivities include live entertainment by Brass Pro and the Waterfront Revivalists, and The Reardon and Garvey Band.
There will be distillery tours and a chance to check out the Lakeward Spirits Event Center on the building’s 2nd floor (lead image). Fellow tenants, Snowy Owl Kombucha and Elevator Alley Kayak, will both be open during the event, adding to the overall experience.
Guests at the event will also get a chance to eat at Ru’s Pierogi, R&R BBQ, and Ricos Pinchos Place food trucks.
The Barrel Factory is also currently looking to secure a restaurant and a brewery, which will complete the full picture of the building.
