Margaret Sullivan has taken national media circles by storm since leaving The Buffalo News in 2012. She served nearly four years as public editor of The New York Times before joining The Washington Post this spring as media columnist. She’s earned rave reviews along the way.
Sullivan returns to Buffalo on Oct. 19 to serve as keynote speaker for a gala dinner hosted by Investigative Post, Buffalo’s award winning nonprofit investigative reporting center. She’ll address the state of investigative reporting, which she says is under siege.
“Local investigative reporting is threatened throughout county and really needs to be defended and needs to be protected,” she told Investigative Post Editor Jim Heaney in a podcast interview.
The Oct. 19 dinner at the Buffalo Hyatt regency is scheduled to begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. Tickets start at $50, tables at $1,000, and can be purchased online.
