Beyond the Buffalo Wing in Upstate New York

It’s amazing what’s going on with the food scene in Buffalo these days. But it’s the oldie-but-goodies that continue to impress out-of-towners who travel to this city because it is a mecca for people who love wings, weck and charbroiled dogs. Not to mention the sponge candy and the cup and char pizzas.

The New York Times has picked up on this traditional food lovers aspect of Buffalo. Even Jimmy Fallon recently got a taste of beef on weck on national TV a couple of weeks ago, when chef Mario Batali introduced the talk show host to one of Buffalo’s favorite meal offerings. 

As much as the local culinary scene continues to grow, this city will always be recognized for the foods that originally put it on the map.
