I’m kind of speechless right now. Aaron Bartley from People United for Sustainable Housing (PUSH) just sent me over a video to watch. The video features the 100% Campaign – an initiative that thanks the people in our community for doing the rights things, for the right reasons. It didn’t take long for me to tear up, as I watched the video.
We went to Buffalo, New York to surprise five people who are transforming a city.
Recognizing the people, and their devotion to their projects and the community, and being rewarded for their efforts… left me with so many different emotions that I am still trying to process. So often, in Buffalo, people work selflessly to make their immediate worlds better for all Buffalonians. They are the advocates of art, a healthier environment, organic foods, better schools, and all of the other things that make for a new day, a better day, in Buffalo.
“The video short that just went live is produced by the Solutions Project, an organization founded by the actor Mark Ruffalo focused on transitioning all 50 states to 100% clean energy,” said Bartley. “The video was shot in Buffalo and features five “community heroes”, including several from PUSH, MAP, and Ujima Theatre.”
100% Buffalo: Five Surprises, One City
The people recognized by this campaign (with the help of PUSH) are doing their best to ensure that Buffalo is moving in the right direction. It’s happening. People are making a difference. In Buffalo, there are people who are making it happen, each and every day. They are the fighters, the role models, the dreamers, the doers, and the makers. These are the people that make me proud to live here.
