The Art Trade

Today I learned about a pretty cool show that is taking place in Buffalo on September 24. It’s called The Art Trade. Simply put, the event is a bit like the concept of trading cards, but for artists. At the meet-up, artists are allowed to bring five works of art that they value at $25 each. That’s when the trading begins.

Most important is that no cash is allowed at this event; we will be treating our work as the currency.

This type of trading allows amateurs to mingle with more practiced hands. The Art Trade helps to develop networking opportunities and collaborations between artists. All mediums are welcome. Cash is not allowed. It’s all about bartering and getting to know other artists in the community.

Where makers make connections.

Deadline to register is 9.12.16. Artists can reserve a spot at Eventbrite. Tickets are $25. Once an artist is signed up, he or she is asked to fill out a quick and easy questionnaire. The show takes place at Sugar City on Niagara Street on Saturday, September 24, 2016.
