A new social shuttle service is launching in Buffalo. After reading a recent BRO article, discussing the possible need for tourism related bus services, an operator from a local transportation company reached out to us. Bob Doyle, Chief Experience Coordinator at The Buffalo Movement, LLC., says that his team will be launching a Social Shuttle Service on September 16, 2016.
If done correctly, I believe that there is a great need for this type of service in the city. I have always felt, as different destinations start to hustle and bustle, there will be people looking to get from place to place quickly, easily and inexpensively. In a city that still does not have Uber, these types of transportation initiatives are very important. As the city continues to grow, so will the need to get around safely.
The Social Shuttle Service will:
- Run Friday and Saturday nights
- Connect Buffalo’s major bar and entertainment districts in a continuous loop
- Plans to extend service to Tuesdays, Thursdays, and for a longer duration on the weekends
- Offer a safe, low cost, and fun way to get around Buffalo
- Offers free passes for the first weekend for people who make an account
“We also have some unique private bus tours that we call “Buffalo Experience Tours”, that we’ll be rolling out over the next few weeks,” said Bob. “The focus will be on making it easier for people (tourists, locals, and otherwise) to explore Buffalo and experience new establishments and local favorites that have been around for years.”
Aside from offering a different type of transportation experience around the city, the Social Shuttle Service also plans on organizing group rides to breweries, distilleries, escape rooms, ball games, etc., along with custom experiences.
The Social Shuttle Service is scheduled to launch on Friday, September 16, 2016. Tickets are $10 for an all night pass, but the Grand Opening weekend will be free for everyone.
