Renowned restaurateur (William K’s) and catering guru (AcQua) Molly Ford Koessler has laid claim to the former Vito’s Market location at 40 Fountain Plaza. This is big news for Main Street in Downtown Buffalo. Between the outdoor setting, with skating in the winter and patio seating in the summer, Molly’s on Main will surely become a truly unique culinary destination.
Koessler has been researching markets in other cities, and feels as if she has come up with the perfect food formula for Buffalo. The market will serve full breakfasts and lunches, while offering prepared grab and go dinners. The large interior footprint will allow Koessler to be creative with the space. She plans on offering meats, cheeses and will have an in-house baker making bread, pastries, cakes, et.
Molly’s on Main will focus on seated dining and grab-n-go meals. There will be specialty prepared food offerings with retail market items, and a full café set up with coffee, espresso, cappuccino, coffee drinks, etc. Visitors can also grab smoothies, and gelato. The intention is for this to become a real urban market, with all of the food and drink offerings that can be found at other progressive markets in cities such as NYC and San Francisco. “It’s an awesome space,” says Koessler. ‘We’re doing the build-out right now – I’m hoping for a soft opening on October 10.”
