Why does this buffalo on wheels head to Washington, DC each year? To attend Buffalo Nite – an event that is dedicated to “all things” Buffalo. The buffalo, named “Buffy”, is on the road right now, being pulled along by Buffalo By Choice and Citybration executive director Marti Gorman. Year after year, Marti and Buffy are invited to attend Buffalo Nite, and to turn some heads in the process.
“She was invited by the New York State Society of Washington DC to be a special celebrity guest at Buffalo Nite, the massive annual expatriate shindig in the Dirksen Senate Building on Wednesday, September 21,” said Gorman, “So we gladly hitched her up and we’re heading to this special event.”
Expats in DC celebrate hometown food, fond memories, and the city’s bright future.
Gorman says that along the route to Washington she and Buffy get plenty of honks and waves. In this way, the duo has become a fun-loving ambassador for the Queen City. As representatives at a very unique Buffalo oriented event, the two make a big splash year to year. “There is so much to love here and so much going on that we just couldn’t resist taking this show on the road [again],” said Gorman. “Buffy will be the belle of the ball, helping spread the word: ‘Take another look. Buffalo is booming! It’s time to think about coming home.’”
