Artists Talks @ Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center

Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center is embarking upon a series of artist talks that draws upon the minds and colorful ideas of some of this city’s prolific artists. If you follow the art scene at all, you will recognize most, if not all, of the artists that are featured in this heavy hitting line-up:

  • Wednesday, September 21 – Mickey Harmon (see Facebook)
  • Wednesday, October 19 – George Aedzi Hughes
  • Wednesday, November 16  – Millie Chen
  • Wednesday, January 25 – Caitlin Cass
  • Wednesday, February 22 – Paul Vanouse
  • Wednesday, March 15 – Pam Glick
  • Wednesday, April 26 – Shasti Oleary-Soudant
  • Wednesday, May 17 – Peter Stephens

These talks will reveal fascinating discourses, revolving around what drives and motivates these artists to wake up every day and produce art. Whether they are creating art for art’s sake, or focusing on their art careers, or taking new roads to create and show, each artist has a unique story, words of wisdom and a fresh outlook on the world of art as it pertains to Buffalo.

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
