This year’s Rock A Bully / Fix A Bull Fundraiser is being held at Club Marcella on October 8. This is the Five Year Anniversary of the event, which raises money for a volunteer group to spay/neuter of bully breed dogs in the area. At the same time, the group helps to educate owners on the responsibilities that come with owning a bully breed. Not only is the event a great cause, it’s also a heck of a lot of fun, featuring an awesome line-up of bands and performers (see below).
“Many of us on the committee do rescue work with other organizations, including the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter,” says volunteer and co-organizer Suzanne Laba. “We have impacted the community by helping to spay/neuter bully breed dogs to those that fit the criteria. We also help educate, talk about the misconception of the “pit bull” breed and help promote proper dog ownership. Our upcoming event is our major fundraiser to keep the program going.”
Owning a bully breed is not like owning most other dogs. There is a responsibility that comes with dog ownership that should not be taken lightly. To learn more about the program, and the fundraiser, please visit this site.
